Reg. 3 Chamber of Commerce, Trail Masters Adventure Tours sign MoU to promote tourism
The Region Three Chamber of Commerce and Industry (R3CCI) and Trail Masters Adventure Tours on Thursday formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening and promoting tourism within the region.
The agreement was signed by R3CCI President and THAG Member Bhabita Albert and Owner of Trail Masters Adventure Tours and THAG Member Klaus Christopher Chin, signaling a shared commitment to innovation, collaboration, and unlocking the untapped potential of Region Three.
With existing offerings such as Demerara and Essequibo River tours, farm experiences, and community-based activities, the region already holds a strong foundation. This partnership seeks to build on that, creating new opportunities to further showcase the diverse experiences available while encouraging greater exploration of the area.
THAG President Mitra Ramkumar was present and underscored the importance of initiatives like this in advancing domestic tourism—encouraging Guyanese to travel, explore, and connect with the richness of their own country, alongside attracting international visitors.
Also in attendance was Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, Kamrul Baksh, who highlighted the strong potential of Region Three. He noted that ongoing infrastructural developments across the region present a timely opportunity to accelerate tourism growth, enhance visitor access, and expand offerings—including positioning the region to benefit from emerging cruise tourism opportunities.
Further support for the initiative was expressed by Bibi Meligat, President of the Region Three Tourism Committee, who emphasised continued efforts to strengthen tourism across the region, and Anjanie Narine, Vice Chairwoman of the Region Three Regional Democratic Council, who noted alignment with national development priorities and the government’s broader vision for regional growth.
The presence of additional tour operators and key stakeholders further reflected a shared commitment to collaboration and the collective advancement of tourism in Region Three.
