The new G$1.8 billion Cotton Field Secondary School is expected to be completed by December.
Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, confirmed the timeline during a recent site visit, instructing the contractor to work around the clock to ensure its year-end goal.
The visit followed a comprehensive meeting between Minister Parag and all headteachers across Region Two.
The Minister was joined by a delegation of senior education officers, including Permanent Secretary Shannielle Hoosein-Outar, Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain, and Chief Planning Officer Mischka White-Griffith.
The delegation conducted a thorough assessment to ensure the facility meets the required standards.
Once completed, the school will be able to accommodate approximately 1000 students. It will also bolster the region’s educational infrastructure, providing 35 modern classrooms, laboratories, an expansive library and sports facilities.
