15-Y-O stabbed to death on Robb Street

A 15-year-old lad of Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WCD) was during the wee hours of today stabbed to death at Robb Street, Georgetown.

He has been identified as Andel Martin.

The 23-year-old suspect, a resident of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, has been arrested.

Based on reports received, at about 1:00h on the day in question, Martin was in the company of four of his teenage friends near Teleperformance, Robb Street, when they started teasing the suspect, who was at the time sitting in front of the establishment.

In retaliation, the suspect, armed with a cutlass, chased off the boys, but they reportedly returned, and continued to tease the suspect.

This time, the suspect became annoyed and attacked them with the cutlass. While the friends managed to flee, Martin was captured by the suspect.

The suspect then pulled out a knife from his waistband and dealt the teen one stab to his chest.

In an attempt to escape the attack, Martin ran a short distance but collapsed in the middle of the road near the Red Dragon Night Club.

The suspect then fled the scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement officials along the Schoonord Public Road.

Meanwhile, a stab wound was found on the left side of his chest below the victim’s heart. A cutlass was also discovered at the scene.
