19-Y-O dead, driver hospitalised after minibus accident on Soesdyke-Linden Highway
A 19-year-old female is now dead after a speeding minibus lost control and toppled several times in the vicinity of Moblissa on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
The dead female has been identified as Sarah Simon of Moblissa. She along with the 22-year-old driver, also a resident of Moblissa who is now hospitalised with injuries, were the only two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

According to police reports, the accident occurred on Saturday March 28, 2026 about 09:45hrs at Moblissa, in the vicinity of Rubin Sawmill.
Initial investigations revealed that the minibus, BAK 9272, was proceeding south along the eastern side of Moblissa Public Road at an alleged fast rate of speed when, while negotiating a left bend, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which toppled several times and ended up on the eastern parapet.
As a result of the accident, the driver and the occupant were picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where the teenager was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The driver was admitted as a patient.
The teen’s body was later transferred to the Linden Senior Citizens Association Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
The vehicle has been lodged for examination by a licensing and certifying officer.
Investigations are ongoing.
