An East Coast Demerara (ECD) man has been arrested following the discovery of a quantity of cocaine and cannabis on Friday at the Transport Wharf on Water Street in Kingston, Georgetown.
The narcotics were unearthed by officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU).

CANU said the officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation at Transport Wharf, where they intercepted the suspect carrying two cardboard boxes.
A subsequent search of two cardboard boxes in the possession of the suspect revealed 13 parcels containing a quantity of cannabis and one 1 parcel containing rock cocaine.
The suspect, Jermain Mickle, a 46-year-old resident of Mont Repos, East Coast Demerara, was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the narcotics, which weighed 12.104 kg (cannabis) and 1.272 kg (cocaine).
Investigations are ongoing.
