Govt engages DR firm on use of more durable materials for infrastructure projects
The Ministry of Public Works on Tuesday benefited from a sensitisation meeting with the LaKa Group, a leading infrastructure solutions firm based in the Dominican Republic.
The session brought together senior technical staff and engineering leads to explore the expansion of the integration of more pro-synthetic materials into the national development framework.
The presentation focused on shifting from traditional, high-maintenance materials toward synthetic alternatives that promise greater durability, faster deployment, and long-term cost-efficiency.
During the showcase, the LaKa Group delegation detailed how their specialised synthetic materials can be a “force multiplier” for local projects.
The senior technical staff engaged in a robust question and answer segment, focusing on the scalability of these materials across diverse terrains—from urban highways to coastal defenses.
The presentation wrapped up on a high note of exploring the integration of “pro-synthetic” solutions to transform the standard of infrastructural excellence across the country.
