Man gets $750K bail on Causing Death by Dangerous Driving charge

Shawn Gonsalves was granted $750,000 bail on a Causing Death by Dangerous Driving charge when he appeared in Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Gonsalves appeared before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs, who read the charge to him. After the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) was applied, the accused pleaded not guilty.

As such, he was granted bail and that matter was adjourned to April 28, 2026.
