An arrest warrant has been issued for Azruddin Mohamed after he failed to attend the continuation of his extradition hearing on Monday morning.
The warrant was granted by Magistrate Judy Latchman when the matter was called and Mohamed was not present in court. The magistrate also expressed dissatisfaction over what was described as his recurring lateness to previous hearings.
“As it relates to Azruddin Mohamed, he is very disrespectful and an arrest warrant was issued for him. He has to be punctual,” the magistrate said during the proceedings.
Mohamed and his father, Nazar Mohamed, who have been indicted in the United States on several financial crime-related charges, are each on $150,000 bail pending the determination of the extradition proceedings.
The matter was postponed to February 18 to allow for the submission of an updated medical report concerning Nazar Mohamed.
