Police in Regional Division #4 ‘B’ (East Bank Demerara) have unearthed a quantity of suspected cannabis at the Soesdyke Junction, East Bank Demerara.
The discovery was made at about 10:30h on Friday during an operation conducted. At the time, ranks were acting on information received when they proceeded to the area and conducted a search of a shop and its surrounding premises.

During the exercise, 45 transparent zip-lock plastic bags containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis were found concealed in the sand under a coconut tree a short distance from the residence.
A 37-year-old security guard/vendor of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, was arrested and escorted to the Timehri Police Station.
The suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 77 grams before being lodged.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
