Three persons have been arrested in connection with a cocaine bust at Suddie, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
The bust was made by ranks in the division on Thursday afternoon during an operation along the Suddie Public Road.
During the operation, ranks stopped a motorcar being driven by a 29-year-old man of Spring Garden, Essequibo Coast.
The motorcar had two passengers, a resident of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and a resident of Good Hope, ECD.
Police searched a haversack which was in the possession of one of the occupants and discovered the suspected cocaine.
The haversack contained two black plastic bags with several pieces of whitish rockish-like substances suspected to be that of cocaine.
The three individuals were arrested and escorted along with the suspected cocaine to the Suddie Police Station, where the drugs were weighted and amounted to 3.397lbs.
Investigations are ongoing.
