In keeping with a promise made by President Dr Irfaan Ali, Budget 2026 has allotted $60 billion to facilitate the distribution of the $100,000 per adult citizen cash grant initiative.
According to Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh, Guyanese citizens aged 18 and older will benefit from this initiative, which was initiated for the first time in 2024.
The initiative initially saw more than $60 billion in disposable income placed into the pockets of over 600,000 Guyanese.
Dr Singh said Budget 2026 caters for another round of distribution this year.
