4 juveniles charged for assaulting student at De Willem

See full statement from the Guyana Police Force:

Four juveniles were jointly charged in connection with an alleged Assault offence committed on a 16-year-old student at De Willem, West Coast Demerara on January 21, 2025.

The charge was laid under Section 21 of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.

On Monday January 26, 2026, the defendants appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Rabindranauth Singh, where the charge was read to them jointly. They all pleaded guilty.

The matter was postponed to February 25, 2026, pending a probation report prior to sentencing.
