See full statement from the Guyana Police Force:
The Guyana Police Force is investigating reports circulating on social media involving wanted man Jamal Bourne, also known as “Skinny,” who was wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, on September 12, 2024.
The Force is aware of a video which circulated on social media and appears to show Bourne inflicting a suspected gunshot wound to himself during a Facebook Live broadcast on Sunday January 18, 2026. During the broadcast, Bourne was also observed in the company of other individuals while allegedly displaying a cadre of suspected firearms. The video has since been removed from the page on which it was originally posted.
At this time, there is no official confirmation of his death and no reports have been received in any of the 12 policing regions of Guyana regarding the incident.
The Guyana Police Force is treating the matter seriously and is making all necessary enquiries to verify the location of the video and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
