Josephine Tapp is new President of Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana
The Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) has announced that Josephine Tapp is its new President.
Tapp, who is Assistant Manager at B&J Civil Works, is also the new Chair of Advocacy and Governance Committee.
Vice President and Chair of Fundraising & Events Committee is Shamela John, a Chartered Accountant and Finance Specialist while the Treasurer is Kadija Murray, a Senior Analyst at Ernst and Young (EY) Caribbean.
The Secretary is Lisa Mohammed, CEO, Sibs Contracting Services Inc; Director, Corporate Health Solutions Inc., and Operations Manager, WANSAT Networks Inc. while Director and Chair of Membership & Outreach is Shevion Sears, Director, Sears Consultancy Inc.
Meanwhile, Director and Chair of Communications and CSR: is Ulecia Bishop, CEO, UB Precision Eng while Director and Chair of Training & Development is Rowena Elliot, Office Manager at Blue Water Shipping Guyana Inc.


According to the Chamber, this dynamic team of motivated and empowered women is poised to lead the organisation into an exciting and impactful year of growth and achievement.
It noted that the Board will focus on creating sustainable opportunities for women entrepreneurs and professionals, strengthening capacity-building initiatives, championing policy reform for a more equitable business landscape, and amplifying the impact of women-led businesses across Guyana.
Moreover, the WCCIG said it remains steadfast in its mission to inspire, connect, and support women as they contribute to economic progress and community development.
