Forty-four-year-old Julius Mandella Haniff of Lot Edinburgh, East Bank Berbice (EBB) succumbed to his injuries on Saturday following an accident in the wee hours of Friday along the Good Hope Public Road, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Based on reports received, he was at the time driving motor car PAG 9310 when he lost control on the wet roadway due to rainfall and crashed into a concrete utility pole. At the time of the accident, his wife, 39-year-old Yurajwatie Hussain, was in the motor car.
The couple, who sustained injuries to their bodies, were pulled from the wreckage and taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where Haniff died at about 10:10 h on Saturday while receiving medical attention.
His wife, nevertheless, was discharged.
