The body of a two-year-old boy was this afternoon pulled from the river at the Kwakwani Waterfront.
The child has been identified as Tauran McLeanon, who resided with his family in the community.
According to Tamika Joaquin, a 39-year-old housewife and mother of the child, her son went to the river shortly after 15:00hrs this afternoon to take a bath and subsequently disappeared. The matter was later reported to the police.
A search was carried out in the river by residents and Tauren’s lifeless body was recovered. The body was taken to the Kwakwani Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is at the hospital’s morgue, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
