The sum of $6.1 billion has been set aside in Budget 2026 to continue works on the Railway Embankment four lane highway from Sheriff Street to Orange Nassau, and onwards to the Mahaica River Bridge.
This is according to Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh who said the the next phase of this project will extend the four-lane highway from Mahaica to D’Edward, which is expected to commence this year.
