Some two days after he was injured in an accident along the Heroes Highway, 54-year-old Newton Bobb Fraser has succumbed to his injuries.
On April 8, Fraser was driving an x-trail along the Heroes Highway when a truck allegedly crashed into him, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and then crash into a lamppost.
The accident occurred at around 08:30hrs. Reports are that Fraser approached a section of the highway where construction works were ongoing and cones were laid on the road. As he attempted to proceed with caution, a truck allegedly crashed into the rear of his vehicle, causing it to spin and ultimately crash into a lamppost.
Fraser, a father of five, was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical attention but succumbed to his injuries this morning.
The man, who was a contractor, had suffered a broken pelvis, a damaged bladder, and other extensive internal injuries.
