17-Y-O dies in accident at Lima Sands

A 17-year-old has died in an accident on Sunday night along the Lima Sands Access Road, Essequibo Coast.

Dead is Sudesh John who was riding an unregistered motorcycle with a 21-year-old as the pillion rider, when it crashed into motorcar PAD 3341 driven by a 44-year-old driver attached to the Regional Democratic Council of Region Two.

The car driver said he was proceeding in a southern direction while the motorcycle was proceeding north, when the two vehicles collided.

The car driver said the bike did not have on lights and that the riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist and pillion rider were taken to the Lima Regional Hospital where John was pronounced dead. The pillion rider remains hospitalised.
