Trio now charged with 2024 murder of Kuru Kururu man

Three men who are accused of the murder of Aubrey Richardson, which occurred at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke Linden Highway, were yesterday remanded to prison after they appeared in court to answer to the charge.

The three accused, 19-year-old Carlton Antwan Sampson called ‘Skeng’ or ‘Cartoon’ of Circuitville Soesdyke Highway; 26-year-old Dwayne Neil Winter called ‘Drizzle’ of Section ‘C’ Block ‘Y’ Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara and 36-year-old Brutus Taylor of 16th Avenue Diamond, East Bank Demerara appeared at the Friendship Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to them.

They were not required to plea and were subsequently remanded to prison. The matter has been adjourned until May 30th, 2025.

Aubrey Richardson

Richardson, a 61, formerly of Kuru Kururu village on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, was shot and killed during a robbery in August 2024.

Known by many as “Gooby”, Richardson was shot during an incident that occurred at Sattie’s Shop in Yarrowkabra, a community along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, on August 24, and succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
