Popular entertainer and promoter, Rawle Ferguson was on Friday released on station bail after he arrested on Thursday evening for questioning in connection with a multi-million-dollar fraud case.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told this publication that the businessman was released on a substantial amount to bail as investigations continue into the matter.
The Crime Chief related “the Police are investigating a multimillion-dollar fraud whereby persons obtained millions of dollars from the virtual complainant by pretending that they can acquire large portions of land for him.”
Blanhum said it is alleged that Ferguson had collected portions of the total sum.
“As a consequence, the businessman arrested by investigators and questioned about his investment in the crime,” the Crime Chief explained.
Further, he confirmed that the suspect has been cooperating with the detectives and was placed on substantial bail pending the outcome of the investigation.
INews understands that the investigation surrounds a plot of land along the Heroes Highway.
