Tianna Serena Lewis-King, 23, a nursing assistant of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was remanded to prison for the offence Inciting Acts of Terrorism, Contrary to Section 309(A)(2) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Lewis-King, who was arrested on Monday, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today before Magistrate Faith McGusty where the charge was read to her and she was not required to plead.
Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, and the accused was remanded to prison. The matter was then adjourned to May 30.
Lewis-King was wanted by the police over the voice recording, which was widely circulated on social media. In the voice recording, the woman falsely stated that she was present during the post mortem examination of Adriana Younge. She further falsely stated that she was sent there by the Minister of Health.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) had contended that the recording “is clearly intended to create public mischief, pervert and obstruct the course of justice, among other criminal offices…”
Earlier in the day, her friend, Randolph Kingston, was released on $300,000 for allegedly circulating the recording.
