

See below statement on Guyana’s participation at the ICAO FALC 2025 in Doha, Qatar
Guyana participated in the ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC) 2025, a pivotal event that aims to shape the future of civil aviation. The conference was held in Doha, Qatar, from April 14-17, 2025, under the theme “Facilitating the Future of Air Transport”.
The conference, which was officially inaugurated on Sunday, April 13, 2025, by Qatar’s esteemed Minister of Transport, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, brought together more than 1500 key stakeholders including more than 75 directors general, Ministers, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss critical issues, formulate strategies for air transport facilitation and the advancement of the aviation sector.
The Conference, organized by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) in close collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), was held under the distinguished patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
Among the attendees was the Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Lt. Col. (ret’d) Egbert Field A.A., who represented Guyana’s interests at the conference. Director General Field actively engaged in discussions with his counterparts, including a productive meeting with the Director General of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, where they explored avenues for mutual cooperation, including training and the exchange of technical expertise. Additionally, Col. Field held similar discussions with a delegation from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to further strengthen regional ties and foster collaboration within the Caribbean aviation community.
In recognition of his contributions and the respect he commands among his peers, Col. Field was bestowed with the honor of delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of all the delegates, a testament to Guyana’s growing influence in the global aviation arena. The conference concluded with the adoption of the Doha Declaration on Facilitation of International Air Transport.
