Brazilian national charged with armed robbery in Lethem

Christians Barros Buckley, a 28-year-old Brazilian national and driver of Bonfim, Brazil, who was arrested and charged with the offence of Robbery Under Arms, appeared in court on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, to answer the charge.

He was charged under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, for Robbery Under Arms committed at Lethem.

The accused appeared at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Omadatt Chandan, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was subsequently remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to May 13, 2026.
