

The boyfriend of 22-year-old Stacy Walton whose body was fished out of a canal at Number 7 Village, East Coast Berbice, on Friday last, is to be arraigned with manslaughter.
Following advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, the police confirmed that the boyfriend will be making his court appearance tomorrow.
Family members had expressed concern over the circumstances under which the young mother of one met her demise.
An autopsy performed by government pathologist Dr. Vivekananda Bridgmohand gave the cause of death as asphyxia and drowning.
Police are of the belief that the boyfriend reportedly pushed the woman’s head into the trench so that she drowned and then put her body in the car and put the seat belts on before pushing the car Into the trench.
It was initially reported that the woman died in a car crash and that her body was pulled from the wreckage.
Walton resided at Alexander Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
