Body of woman found at Kingston foreshore identified

The body of the female, which was found on the Kingston foreshore, Georgetown, has been identified as 19-year old Kavita Ackloo of South Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara.

Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Senior Superintendent Wendell Blanhum said the young woman’s father identified her body.

The body of the man, which was next to her, has not yet been identified.

Blanhum said investigators have so far gleaned that Ackloo recently moved out of her mother’s home and went to live with her father. Crime sleuths intend to interview Akcloo’s mother. So far, her father has not provided investigators any useful information.

It was not immediately clear whether she had been in an abusive relationship.


Ackloo worked at a store on King Street, Georgetown.
