Spanish-speaking national stabbed to death during robbery at Middle Road

A Spanish-speaking national was moments ago stabbed to death during a robbery along Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown. The identity of the now-deceased man is yet to be confirmed.

Inews understands that the man, who resided in the area, was walking along Middle Road, La Penitence when he was confronted by two men on a motorcycle who attempted to relieve him of a gold chain that he was wearing at the time.

He put up a fight, but in retaliation, the two men-one of whom was armed with a knife-dealt him several blows about the body and took away the piece of jewellery.

The injured man reportedly raised an alarm and walked a short distance before collapsing. The two bandits fled the scene after committing the act. An investigation is underway.
