3 arrested over cocaine bust on Lombard Street

Three persons have been arrested in connection with a cocaine bust on Lombard and Sussex Streets, Georgetown on Wednesday.

The bust was made during an intelligence-led operation led by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU).

During the operation, the officers intercepted motorcar bearing licence plate number PAJ 8554. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed ten brick-like parcels, containing a quantity of cocaine.

Colin Alfred, a 47-year-old mechanic of 1415 Westminster, Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, and Terrence Bentinck, 28-year-old, of Lot M 53 Guyhoc Gardens, Georgetown, were arrested and taken to CANU headquarters following the discovery of 11.148 kilograms of cocaine.

A wanted bulletin was subsequently issued for Jason Lloyd De Freitas aka “Whiteboy” in connection with the seizure and he has since turned himself in. Investigations are ongoing.
