Police in Regional Division 4 ‘A’ (Georgetown) are investigating the shooting of a 27-year-old chef of Barr Street, Albouystown, who was injured in his leg.
The incident occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at about 23:30 hours at Hunter Street, Albouystown.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was at the location with several other persons when the suspect approached him from the western direction, armed with a handgun.
The suspect allegedly pointed the firearm in the victim’s direction and discharged two rounds, which struck him to his left thigh. The gunman then made good his escape on a waiting motorcycle, which was parked on the western side of Hunter Street.
The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by public-spirited persons, where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient. His condition is listed as stable.
CCTV cameras were observed in the area and will be reviewed.
No arrest has been made as investigations into the Discharging a Loaded Firearm with Intent offence continue.
